Malachi
[ˈmæl.ə.kaɪ]Meaning
from Hebrew malʾaḵi, "my messenger" or "my angel"
Background Story
Malachi comes from the Hebrew מַלְאָכִי (Malʾaḵi), a possessive form of מַלְאָךְ (malʾaḵ), "messenger, angel". It is the name used by the author of the Book of Malachi, the last book of the Prophets in the Tanakh, and the name occurs only once, at the start of the book, so it is possible it is not a name at all but simply the words "my angel". In England the name came into use after the Protestant Reformation.
