Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 November 2026

This policy explains what Dog-Name.net (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit the site, why it is collected, and which other companies receive data. It covers the website at dog-name.net only. Links to other sites are governed by those sites' own policies.

What we collect

We do not offer user accounts, comments or a newsletter, and we do not ask you to submit a name, email address or payment details to read the site.

Third parties that load on this site

The following services are requested directly by pages on this site. Their own privacy policies apply to the data they receive.

These analytics and advertising scripts load by default when you open a page; we do not put them behind a consent wall. You can stop them with a content blocker, by blocking third-party scripts or cookies in your browser, or by sending the Global Privacy Control (GPC) or Do Not Track (DNT) signal where your browser and the third party honour it. Blocking scripts does not prevent you from reading any page on the site.

Why we process data and how long we keep it

Server logs are processed to operate and secure the site, which is our legitimate interest as the operator. Analytics is used to understand which parts of the library are useful. Where local law requires consent for analytics or advertising cookies, that consent is obtained by the third party named above or is not required for the strictly necessary parts of the service. Raw server logs are kept for a short operational window and then deleted or aggregated. Analytics and advertising retention is set by the providers in their own policies.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. Data is shared with the service providers listed above so that they can deliver analytics and advertising, and with our hosting provider so that pages can be served. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the site from abuse. Some providers process data outside your country, including in the United States; they rely on their own transfer mechanisms.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to request a copy, correction or deletion, to object to processing, or to withdraw consent. Because we do not run accounts, we often hold no record that identifies you individually; in that case we will explain what we can and cannot locate. You can also use the browser controls described above. Requests can be sent to [email protected]. You may complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

The site is a general-audience reference and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

When the services that load on the site change, this page is updated and the date at the top changes. Continued use of the site after an update means the revised policy applies.
