Rhonda
[ˈrɒndə]Meaning
probably a blend of the sounds of Rhoda and Linda, perhaps influenced by Rhondda
Background Story
Rhonda is probably a blend of the sounds of Rhoda and Linda, though it may also have been influenced by the Rhondda Valley in South Wales or by Margaret Mackworth, Viscountess Rhondda. The name has only been used since the beginning of the 20th century, at first rarely, and began to become popular in the mid-1940s at the same time as the American actress Rhonda Fleming. It peaked in the United States in 1965 and declined thereafter.
