Aviator is another word for an aircraft pilot. The term also covers other aircrew members, such as navigators and flight engineers, who assist in operating the aircraft's navigation and engine systems, but not drone operators, flight attendants, mechanics or ground crew. Most militaries and many airlines award aviator badges to their pilots.
